How it works

Three steps, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Open Add Watermark

Press ⌃⌥Space and type “watermark”, or pick it from MightyBench’s menu bar icon.

  2. 02

Type your mark, pick a spot

Add photos or PDFs and type your text, such as © 2026 Studio North. Choose Corner, Centre or Tiled, then set Size, Opacity and light or dark text.

  3. 03

    Press Add Watermark

Marked copies, in the same format as the originals, land in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench. The originals stay clean.

The details

Small things, done properly.

  • Same look on every size

The mark scales with each image, so it looks the same on a phone photo and a 50-megapixel shot in the same batch.

  • Tiled to resist cropping

Tiled repeats the text diagonally across the whole image or page, which makes it hard to crop or clone out.

  • PDFs stay proper PDFs

The watermark is added to every page, and the document keeps its selectable text and working links.

  • Light or dark text

Use light text on dark photos or dark text on bright ones, and set the opacity so the mark is as subtle or as bold as you like.

  • Formats kept

A JPEG stays a JPEG and a PNG stays a PNG. The watermark is drawn into each image in its original format.

  • Proofs stay private

Client proofs and draft documents are marked on your Mac, never uploaded to a website to get stamped.

FAQ

Questions about Add Watermark

Anything else? Email support@mightybench.com and a person will reply.

How do I add a watermark to photos on a Mac?

Open Add Watermark, drop the photos in and type your text. Choose Corner, Centre or Tiled, set the opacity and press Add Watermark. Marked copies land in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench.

Can I watermark a PDF?

Yes. Drop PDFs in on their own or alongside images. The mark goes on every page, and the PDF keeps its text and links.

How do I make a watermark hard to remove?

Choose Tiled. The text repeats diagonally across the whole image or page, so there’s no clean corner to crop away.

Will the watermark look the same on every photo?

Yes. Its size follows each image, so one setting works for a mix of phone photos and large camera files.

What can the watermark say?

Any text you type, such as your name, your studio, a copyright line or DRAFT. You choose its position, size, opacity and whether it’s light or dark.

Are my original files changed?

No. Watermarked copies are saved to a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench, and your originals stay exactly as they were.
