How do I make a GIF from a video on a Mac?
Open Video to GIF, drop the clip in, drag the range on the looping preview and press Make GIF to save the loop.
How big will my GIF be?
You see an estimated file size before you export, so you can adjust the width or frame rate first if you need to.
Can I choose which part of the video to use?
Yes. Drag the range on the preview. It plays on repeat while you adjust it, so you can make the loop join up nicely.
How does it keep colours clean?
It builds a palette from your clip before making the GIF, for cleaner skin tones and gradients.
Do I need FFmpeg to make GIFs?
Yes. The first time you need it, MightyBench installs FFmpeg through Homebrew in one click, or uses a copy you point it to.
Does Video to GIF upload my clip?
No. The GIF is made entirely on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded and there’s no account to create.
