How it works
Three steps, start to finish.
-
01
Open Upscale Images
Press ⌃⌥Space and type “enlarge image”, or pick it from MightyBench’s menu bar icon.
-
02
Choose 2× or 4×
Add HEIC, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP or anything else macOS reads. Pick a Scale and a Format, and check the new pixel size shown for each image.
-
03
Press Upscale
Larger copies in PNG, JPEG or HEIC land in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench. Your original images are left untouched.
The details
Small things, done properly.
-
Apple’s model, on your Mac
When your Mac and the image size support it, Upscale Images uses Apple’s on-device super-resolution model through VideoToolbox to add detail.
-
4× is two careful passes
4× runs the 2× model twice, so a 1000-pixel-wide image comes out 4000 pixels wide with detail added at each step.
-
New size shown first
Every image in the list shows its new pixel size before you press Upscale, so there are no surprises when the files land.
-
A fallback that still looks good
When the model can’t be used, for example on a very large image, it switches to a high-quality resize with gentle sharpening.
-
PNG, JPEG or HEIC
Save as PNG to keep every pixel, JPEG for something that opens anywhere, or HEIC for smaller files that still look sharp.
-
Photos stay private
Images are upscaled on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded, there’s no account and there are no credits to buy.

FAQ
Questions about Upscale Images
Anything else? Email support@mightybench.com and a person will reply.
How do I upscale an image on a Mac?
Open Upscale Images, drop the photo in and choose 2× or 4×. Press Upscale and the larger copy lands in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench.
Does it use AI to add detail?
Where your Mac and the image size allow, yes: it uses Apple’s on-device super-resolution model through VideoToolbox. Otherwise it uses a high-quality resize with gentle sharpening. Either way, nothing leaves your Mac.
How big can I make a photo?
Up to 4× its width and height. A 1200 × 800 image becomes 4800 × 3200 at 4×, and the new size is shown for each image before you start.
Can I upscale several images at once?
Yes. Drop a batch and every image is enlarged with the same Scale and Format, each showing its new pixel size in the list.
Which format should I save upscaled images in?
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, JPEG opens anywhere, and HEIC gives smaller files that still look good on Apple devices.
Are my photos uploaded to upscale them?
No. Upscaling runs entirely on your Mac. There’s no upload, no account and no credits.
