How it works
Three steps, start to finish.
-
01
Open Trim Video
Press ⌃⌥Space and type “cut video”, or pick it from MightyBench’s menu bar icon.
-
02
Mark what to keep
Drag the trim handles, press S to split at the playhead and ⌫ to delete a piece. For several files, set one Start and End time for all of them.
-
03
Press Trim
The trimmed video lands in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench as MP4, or in its original format with Lossless cut. The source file is untouched.
The details
Small things, done properly.
-
Frame-accurate by default
By default the video is re-encoded, so it starts and stops exactly on the frame you chose.
-
Instant lossless cuts
Turn on Lossless cut to copy the streams without re-encoding. Trims are instant and quality-perfect, and snap to the nearest keyframe.
-
Take out the middle
Split at the playhead with S and delete a piece with ⌫. Everything you keep is joined back together in order.
-
One range for every file
Drop several videos and set one Start and End time to trim them all to the same range.
-
Then send it on
Pass the trimmed clip straight into Compress Video or Burn In Subtitles with Send to next tool, without hunting for files.

FAQ
Questions about Trim Video
Anything else? Email support@mightybench.com and a person will reply.
How do I trim a video on a Mac?
Open Trim Video, drop the clip in and drag the trim handles on the timeline. Press Trim to save just the part you kept.
Can I cut a section out of the middle?
Yes. Move the playhead, press S to split, select the unwanted piece and press ⌫. What’s left is joined in order.
What does Lossless cut do?
It copies the streams instead of re-encoding, so the trim is instant and quality-perfect. The cut snaps to the nearest keyframe, and the file keeps its original format.
Will it change my original video?
No. Results are written to a staging folder and published to a fresh dated folder when the batch finishes. The source video stays where it was.
Can I trim several videos the same way?
Yes. Drop several files and set one Start and End time, and every video is trimmed to that range.
Is FFmpeg required?
Yes. Trim Video uses FFmpeg, which MightyBench installs through Homebrew in one click. You can also point it to your own copy.
Plus forty-eight other tools.
Trim Video comes with every other MightyBench tool: video, audio, images, PDFs and on-device AI in one native Mac app. Pay $39 once for one Mac, with every MightyBench 1.x update included.
