One-time purchase · macOS 26 Tahoe or later, Apple silicon recommended

How it works

Three steps, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Open QR Codes

Press ⌃⌥Space and type “qr code”, or pick it from MightyBench’s menu bar icon.

  2. 02

    Make or Read

In Make, choose Link, Text, Wi-Fi or Contact and fill in the details. In Read, drop photos or screenshots that contain codes.

  3. 03

    Press Create QR Code

New codes are saved as PNG in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench. In Read, results appear to copy and are saved as a .txt.

The details

Small things, done properly.

  • Wi-Fi for guests

Enter the network name, password and security type, and guests join by pointing their phone camera at the code.

  • Contact cards

Add a name, phone number and email, and the code opens as a contact that’s ready to save on the other person’s phone.

  • Read every code

Drop a batch of photos or screenshots and Apple Vision finds every QR code and barcode in them, ready to copy.

  • Scans when printed small

Codes are made with high error correction, so they still scan when printed small or slightly scuffed. Set Size for posters and signs.

  • Made and read offline

Everything happens on your Mac with no internet connection, so Wi-Fi passwords and contact details stay private.

FAQ

Questions about QR Codes

Anything else? Email support@mightybench.com and a person will reply.

How do I make a QR code on a Mac?

Open QR Codes, stay in Make mode and choose Link. Paste the address, set the size and press Create QR Code. A PNG lands in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench.

How do I make a QR code for my Wi-Fi?

Choose Wi-Fi, then enter the network name, password and security type. Guests scan the code with their phone camera to join without typing the password.

How do I scan a QR code from a screenshot on a Mac?

Switch QR Codes to Read and drop the screenshot in. Every code it finds is listed for you to copy, and the results are also saved as a .txt file.

Can it read barcodes too?

Yes. Read mode uses Apple Vision to find QR codes and barcodes in a batch of photos and screenshots.

Do the QR codes expire?

No. The code holds your link or text directly, with no tracking service in between, so it keeps working for as long as the link does.

Will a small printed QR code still scan?

Codes are made with high error correction, which helps them scan when printed small or slightly damaged. Choose a larger size for posters and signs.
