Images · Resize Images

Every photo gets the same width and keeps its shape.

Set a width, a longest side or a percentage and every image is scaled to fit, keeping its own proportions. Change the format in the same pass if you like.

How it works

Three steps, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Open Resize Images

Press ⌃⌥Space and type “batch resize”, or pick it from MightyBench’s menu bar icon.

  2. 02

    Choose how to measure

Set By to Width, Longest side or Percent and type a value, such as 1600 px. Pick a Format and quality, and turn on Never upscale if you need it.

  3. 03

    Press Resize

Resized copies, upright and stripped of metadata, go to a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench. The originals aren’t touched.

The details

Small things, done properly.

  • Width, longest side or percent

Resize by width, by longest side for a mix of portrait and landscape shots, or by a percentage of the original.

  • Proportions always kept

Each image keeps its own shape, so nothing is squashed or stretched, whatever size you ask for.

  • Convert in the same pass

Save as JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, AVIF or TIFF while you resize: one pass instead of two, with quality set alongside.

  • Up to 32,768 px a side

Output can be as large as 32,768 px on a side, and Never upscale stops small images from being enlarged.

  • Careful scaling, upright copies

Images are scaled with high-quality interpolation, turned the right way up and saved with metadata stripped.

FAQ

Questions about Resize Images

Anything else? Email support@mightybench.com and a person will reply.

How do I resize a batch of photos on a Mac?

Open Resize Images, drop the photos in, choose Width, Longest side or Percent and type a value. Press Resize and every copy lands in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench.

Will resizing stretch or squash my images?

No. Each image keeps its own proportions. Set the width or longest side and the other dimension follows the photo’s shape.

Can I resize and convert to JPEG at the same time?

Yes. Pick a Format and quality alongside the size and both happen in one pass, instead of resizing first and converting afterwards.

Will it make small images bigger?

Not if you switch on Never upscale. Images already smaller than your target are then left at their own size instead of being enlarged.

Does resizing keep EXIF data?

No. Resized copies are saved with metadata stripped, and each one is turned the right way up first, so nothing ends up sideways.
