The details
Small things, done properly.
-
Opens what QuickTime won’t
MKV, AVI and camcorder MTS are the awkward ones QuickTime refuses. Convert Video opens them and writes MP4, MOV or WebM.
-
Looks like the source
Every file is re-encoded at a high quality setting, so the converted video looks like the one you started with.
-
HEVC for smaller files
Choose HEVC for noticeably smaller MP4 or MOV files that still play on every Apple device. H.264 remains the most compatible.
-
WebM with VP9 and Opus
WebM output uses VP9 video and Opus audio. MP4 and MOV use H.264 or HEVC video with AAC audio.
-
Any number of files
Batch as many videos as you like and they all land in one folder. If one fails, you choose whether to keep the rest.

FAQ
Questions about Convert Video
Anything else? Email support@mightybench.com and a person will reply.
How do I convert MKV to MP4 on a Mac?
Open Convert Video, drop in the MKV file, leave Format on MP4 and press Convert. The MP4 appears in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench.
Should I choose H.264 or HEVC?
H.264 is the most compatible choice. HEVC gives noticeably smaller files that still play on every Apple device.
Will converting make my video look worse?
Each file is re-encoded at a high quality setting, so the result looks like the source.
Do I need to install anything first?
Convert Video uses FFmpeg. MightyBench installs it through Homebrew in one click, or you can point it to a copy you already have.
Can I convert several videos at once?
Yes. Batch any number of files and they all land in the same dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench.
Are my videos uploaded to convert them?
No. Conversion runs entirely on your Mac, with no account, no cloud and no analytics.
