Privacy
Your files are none of our business.
MightyBench is built so that we never see your files, and we intend to keep it that way. Here is exactly what happens to your data, in plain words.

The short version
- The app has no account, no analytics and no cloud processing.
- Files you open in MightyBench stay on your Mac. We never receive them.
- Download Video is the only tool that connects to the internet, and it talks directly to the site you paste.
- This website uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
What the app does with your files
All 49 tools run on your Mac, built on frameworks Apple ships with macOS, including AVFoundation, PDFKit, Vision, Speech, Translation and Apple Intelligence. Your files are processed locally and the results are written to a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench by default.
MightyBench contains no analytics or tracking code. It doesn’t send us your files, their names, their contents or anything about how you use the app.
Download Video
When you paste a link into Download Video, your Mac connects directly to that website to fetch the video, using the open-source tools yt-dlp and FFmpeg. The site sees the request much as it would if you visited it in a browser, including your IP address, and its own privacy policy applies.
Downloads never pass through servers run by us. Only download content you own or have permission to save.
Features provided by macOS
Speech recognition and translation languages are downloaded from Apple the first time you use them, then run on your Mac. Summarize and the Clean up option in Dictation use Apple Intelligence on your Mac. These downloads and features are provided by Apple and covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
Homebrew, FFmpeg and yt-dlp
Some video and audio tools use FFmpeg, and Download Video also uses yt-dlp. MightyBench can install them for you through Homebrew in one click, or you can point it to copies you already have. They are independent open-source projects with their own licences and policies, and installing them through Homebrew connects to Homebrew’s servers.
Buying MightyBench
Checkout is handled by our payment provider. We receive what we need to deliver your licence and support you: your name, email address and the details of your order. We never see your full card details.
We use your email address for your purchase, your licence and support, and to tell you about important changes that affect them. We don’t sell it or share it for marketing.
This website
This site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. Its typefaces are served by Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
If you switch between the light and dark themes, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage and is never sent to us. Our web host may keep short-lived server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and running.
If you write to support@mightybench.com, we use your message to reply and keep the conversation so we can help you later. Ask us and we’ll delete it.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you (in practice, your purchase record and any emails you sent us), and ask us to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live, data protection law may give you further rights, and we will honour them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we handle data we already hold, we’ll email customers before it takes effect.
