Video · Mute Video
Every audio track goes, so there’s nothing to unmute.
Drop videos and press Remove Audio; there’s nothing to set. When the picture is already H.264 or HEVC in MP4 or MOV, it’s copied bit-for-bit: instant and lossless.

How it works
Three steps, start to finish.
-
01
Open Mute Video
Press ⌃⌥Space and type “remove audio”, or pick it from MightyBench’s menu bar icon.
-
02
Drop in videos or a folder
Add MOV, MP4, M4V, MKV, WebM, AVI or MTS files, or a whole folder at once. There are no settings to choose.
-
03
Press Remove Audio
Silent copies land in a new dated folder in Downloads › MightyBench, in the same container where possible. Your originals keep their sound.
The details
Small things, done properly.
-
Every track, not just one
All audio tracks are removed, so there’s no hidden second track left for a player to switch back on.
-
Picture copied bit-for-bit
When the video is already H.264 or HEVC in MP4 or MOV, the picture is copied untouched: instant and lossless.
-
Same container when possible
Files keep their container whenever the picture can be copied; anything else is saved as an H.264 MP4.
-
Whole folders at once
Drop a whole folder of clips and every one is muted in a single batch.

FAQ
Questions about Mute Video
Anything else? Email support@mightybench.com and a person will reply.
How do I remove sound from a video on a Mac?
Open Mute Video, drop the video in and press Remove Audio. There’s nothing else to set.
Does muting lower the picture quality?
Not when the video is already H.264 or HEVC in MP4 or MOV: the picture is copied bit-for-bit. Other files are saved as an H.264 MP4.
Could someone switch the sound back on?
No. Every audio track is removed, so there’s nothing hidden left to switch back on.
Can I mute a whole folder of videos?
Yes. Drop the folder in and every video is processed in one batch. If a file fails, you choose whether to keep the ones that worked.
Does Mute Video use FFmpeg?
Yes, it relies on FFmpeg, which MightyBench installs through Homebrew in one click. You can point it to an existing copy instead.
Will my original video lose its sound?
No. Only the copy is silent; the original keeps its audio and stays where it was.
